A Tribute to a Life well Lived. Thank you!

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

I feel Thankful

Today is a day of thanks and today I know I have alot to be thankful for. I hope everyone has a great day with Family and Friends!

“Happiness doesn’t depend on what we have, but it does depend on how we feel toward what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much.”

Using Exercise to Help Treat Low Back Pain

Most adults will experience low back pain at one point or another. This remarkably debilitating situation is rarely dangerous, but it can be very frustrating to living a rewarding lifestyle. All sorts of movements become difficult, and the nagging pain is irritating. There are many ways to treat low back pain, but exercise (when properly done) is one of the most effective ways to prevent recurrence.

Why Exercise?

Exercise is good for anyone, but for those with low back pain it can impart additional benefits. Not all exercises are appropriate or recommended, so it is important to consult with a doctor or physical therapist in order to acquire the proper ones. Your goal is to strengthen the muscles of the abdomen, sides and back without putting strain upon the injured lower back.

Using a therapy ball in conjunction with many of these exercises is helpful. It provides support for the lower back while allowing you to work your other core muscles. Better, stronger muscles help reduce the strain on lumbar discs, and may reduce your odds of disc problems, too. Stretching will help keep your muscles limber and reduce the chances of injury.

At HealthSource Chiropractic and Progressive Rehab our goal is to change our community by educating the public on how the combined effects of correcting posture and strengthening muscle groups can lead to a much healthier lifestyle for all.
